HUNTINGTON, In., USA – UT Electronic Controls (UTEC) will provide 20,000 Carrier ComfortChoice® Touch thermostats to support an energy management program for consumers in Texas, USA.

Comverge Inc., a leading provider of intelligent energy management solutions, placed the order for the thermostats, which will be delivered to TXU Energy, the top electricity provider in Texas.

TXU Energy selected the Carrier ComfortChoice Touch thermostat for its new Brightensm Conservation program, which helps customers reduce energy costs and increase efficiency by using programmable thermostats. The ComfortChoice touch screen programmable thermostat is a perfect choice for this initiative because it allows users to easily adjust temperatures or change the settings from any device connected to the internet.

“The new Carrier-branded thermostat provides an option that combines ease of use with sophisticated functionality,” said Jim Burke, chief executive officer, TXU Energy.

In addition, the thermostat is fully integrated with Comverge’s IntelliSOURCE platform, enabling two-way communications between TXU Energy and its customers.

“UTEC is honored to be awarded this business and become a partner with Comverge and TXU in support of energy conservation. UTEC’s leadership in two-way communicating thermostat technology uniquely enables ComfortChoice Touch to conserve energy while maintaining home comfort,” said Alex Housten, UTEC general manager.
